I love to take everyday circumstances or events and turn them into inspiring stories that help others grow spiritually. I invite you to read how the Holy Spirit speaks to me during my quiet time, prayer time, and worship time. My prayer is that you will discover through one of my inspirations, prayers, poems, or meditations that we have a lot in common. I hope that common bond is Jesus.

I have found on my Christian journey, my spiritual walk, that many Christians give themselves the title, "Christian" but have not truly found the peace that is possible through salvation. We need to know our Creator intimately. We need to have a relationship with Him. But where do we start? I recommend that you forget what you know about religion, it will make you stumble every time. Get lost in the word of God through the pages of your Bible. Trust in Him to speak directly to you to help you grow closer to Him. You will find, in the end, that you will have a love that goes beyond no other.

If we do not allow God to consume us with His love then there is little hope of taking Him into our world in sincerity. When I talk about baby steps to salvation, it is so simple to watch as a spectator because it is one of the most beautiful transformations I have ever seen. Visually think of these things:

  • a rose as it opens from a tightly closed bloom,
  • the butterfly that fights its way out of the cocoon,
  • the sunset as it develops into the climactic masterpiece,
  • or the swelling wave that starts way beyond the shore, but breaks powerfully to rush onto the sand leaving treasures to find on the beach.

They all seem trivial to the actual event of a photographer as he takes a picture of God while focusing on the face of a new believer. Nature just cannot capture the love of God because it is all a part of who He is and what He gives to each one of us. How can we witness such a spectacular event in our daily lives without being changed forever?

Prayers & Blessings,
Brenda Bates
